Character Survey of el Doom
Doing this for fun, so here goes.
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Alvin's tall and somewhat broad, able to carry a giant sword in one hand and a firing weapon in the other without suffering.
2. How old is he?
Twenty six, and not a second older, mind you.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He'll typically carry himself proudly, unless he's trying to appear invisible. There's something to fear about a man who knows how to play the body language properly.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Fit as a fiddle.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
His running during combat can get a little clunky with the weight of that giant sword to throw around, but it's calculated and graceful in its own right. Normally he's pretty loose, unless he has cause to be tense, but you know how that is.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
A++ on the attractive test, and he knows it. He's particularly fond of his hair, but the real heartstopper is his smile.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Somewhat tan, evident he gets lots of sunshine. Healthy.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
A lush brown that's styled just the way he likes it, soft to the touch but sharp on the eyes.
9. What color are his eyes?
Like cinnamon chocolate, sharp and watchful like a lazy lion.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
His giant scarf that he's fond of. He believes it helps "show what's inside on the outside."
11. What are his chief tension centers?
Center of the back, left shoulder, ankles.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Practically all of the above! Barring some extremes, he will try any typical fashion once just to try it, though he tends towards darker and warmer colors in general.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Oh yes, comfort is the selling point for what he wears. He likes to be able to move.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
The two are one and the same, so yeah.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
...come on now, you don't get all the secrets in one go.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Smooth, about medium pitch for a young man. He sounds like he could do well with public speaking with such a soothing, sly voice. Sometimes it's hard to tell when he's being serious or not, though.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Evenly, and even if he's hiding something, he's quick to come up with either a clever lie or another engaging subject to distract from it. You could say how he speaks is where most of his money is made or lost.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Other than a tendency to slip a little lie in with everything, nothing.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
The common language for Rieze Maxia, possibly more, with his line of work.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
It's pretty clear he likes to stick with good ol' commonese usually, so no.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Yes, yes, and yes.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
He's eloquent when things are in his favor and he's comfortable with the cards on the table. When things go south, he usually stays quiet where it suits him.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
A little bit of both, again, thanks to being a mercenary.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He is very cunning, quick thinking is his livelihood.
